Styrofoam Pickup Car Burned in Ancol Toll

A pickup car with plate number B 9936 BAE, burned in km 19,800 Ancol Wiyoto Wiyono toll towards Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta on Wednesday (4/23). Due to this incident, the traffic congestion occured from airport lanes toward the incident scene as long as 2,5 kilometer.

The pickup carrying styrofoam was passing on the toll, exactly on Jalan Lodan, Pademangan, suddenly burned at around 10.30 am. Luckily, there was no casualty and no one injured in that incident.

Arifin (31), pickup driver, admitted that before the incident, he was heading to Bekasi, taking Styrofoam in Dadap, Tangerang.

“At first, a puff of smoke seen from the rear box, and I got down to see it. Suddenly, the fire was getting bigger from the back,” said Arifin.

Because that incident, all styrofoam burnt down. Also, almost all parts of the cars burned in the flames.

Head group of North Jakarta Fire Dept. Sector V, Jamhari said that an early report mentioned that the flame occurred in Pademangan settlement area, so that the Fire Dept. deployed all of his squadron.

“But there are only 3 unit cars come here after knowing the burned one is only a pickup car, and we have already controlled it,” uttered Jamhari.

Meanwhile two lanes out of three lanes towards the incident scene were closed.
